Dear SEC Fan:

On Monday, ESPN and the Southeastern Conference announced a long-term agreement that will allow you to see more of your favorite SEC teams games while securing the financial health of our institutions for years to come.

The SEC’s strength, combined with the prowess of ESPN’s promotional ability and marketing savvy will enable us to expand the national coverage of our great league. This agreement, coupled with our recent extension of our CBS contract, will make the SEC the most nationally televised conference in the nation.

Faced with the decision of creating our own television network, our institutions made it known that one of the most important factors in our television future was the ability of our fans to watch as many of their sporting events as possible. In all of our sports, we feel our agreements with CBS and ESPN accomplish this goal.

We are currently entering the final year of our current television agreements. During the next year, go to www.secsports.com to find out the latest information on our television future as we prepare for the kickoff of our new agreements.

As Commissioner of the SEC, I can say that you are a major reason why our television partners were so eager to continue their relationship with our league. Your passion and support of the SEC and its institutions is nationally recognized and was never lost in our negotiations.

Thank you for your continued support of the Southeastern Conference. I look forward to working with our television networks and our institutions as we continue to make the SEC the best intercollegiate athletics conference in the nation.

Sincerely,

Mike Slive

Commissioner

Southeastern Conference
