Pearson Remains in Top 100
Senior Jenna Pearson remains in the Top 100 after the Gamecocks were idle last weekend. Pearson enters the weekend ranked No. 63 and looks to be a top competitor after leading the team in last year’s Bryan National Collegiate. She peaked at No. 36 earlier this season heading into the Lady Puerto Rico Classic the week of October 6.
Pearson Hits The Ace
Jenna Pearson recorded her first collegiate ace when she took her eight-iron and knocked in a hole-in-one on the 143-yard eighth hole at the UGA Golf Course in day one action at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic on March 23. Pearson became the first Gamecock to ace a hole since teammate Whitney Simons knocked in a hole-in-one at the 2005 NCAA East Regional played at the University of Florida Golf Course. Only 34 women’s golfers have recorded an ace this season.
South Carolina At Last Year’s Bryan National Collegiate
The Gamecocks return to the Bryan National Collegiate for the fifth consecutive year and the eighth time overall. Carolina, led by Pearson, finished 7th overall with a 905 (+41). The Gamecocks finished ahead of four teams ranked in the top 20 nationally, including No. 12 California, No. 14 Vanderbilt, No. 17 Virginia and No. 20 Oklahoma State.
