Women’s Golf Unveils 2019 Fall Schedule
The Gamecocks are set to compete in four tournaments this fall
Columbia, S.C. – The University of South Carolina women’s golf team announced its fall schedule on Monday. The Gamecocks will compete in four tournaments in September and October covering ground in three different states.
The fall slate opens up with a trip to Lake Elmo, Minn. to compete in the Annika Intercollegiate. The three-round tournament is set for Sept. 16-18 at the Royal Golf Club and this marks the fifth consecutive year Carolina has made the trip to Minnesota. The Garnet and Black finished in seventh place in 2018.
September wraps up with a trip to Wilmette, Ill. for the Windy City Classic. The Gamecocks hit the links at the Glen View Club from Sept. 30 – Oct. 1, looking to improve upon their ninth-place finish last fall.
Next up is the Ruth Chris Tar Heel Invitational at the Finley Golf Club in Chapel Hill on Oct. 11-13. For the ninth season in a row the Gamecocks will compete in the three-round tournament as they look to move up after tallying a fourth-place finish last year.
The fall schedule concludes with another trip to North Carolina for the Landfall Tradition in Wilmington on Oct. 25-27. Just like with the Tarheel Invitational, this is the ninth consecutive year the Garnet and Black have competed in the Landfall Tradition. Last year’s squad earned a second-place finish. Returning senior Lois Kaye Go shot a 71 (-1) in the final round to earn a fifth-place finish and help secure second for the Gamecocks.
“We have a very challenging fall schedule with the strongest tournament fields in the country,” head coach Kalen Anderson said. “These events and venues will prepare us well for the spring and postseason play.”
