Boesel Named To Academic All-District Team
COLUMBIA, S.C. — No. 20 South Carolina softball’s Mackenzie Boesel was named to the 2019 NCAA Division I Region 4 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team, the organization announced today.
A native of Yorba Linda, Calif., Boesel is majoring in Sport and Entertainment and plans to graduate a year early with a 4.00 GPA.
Boesel was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Division I Softball Third Team in 2018, becoming just the 10th Gamecock in program history to take Academic All-America honors and the second under Beverly Smith.
The 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District Softball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The Google Cloud Academic All-America program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team (when selected) Academic All-America honorees will be announced in June.
