COLUMBIA, S.C. – A pair of Gamecock women’s soccer incoming freshmen have been called into national camps over the summer. Carrie Lawrence recently wrapped up a week with the U.S. U-19 Women’s National Team while Simone Wark has been called into Jamaica’s U-20 National Team camp.
Lawrence attended camp at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif., May 16-23. Players in the U-19 age group are eligible for the team that will attempt to qualify for the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
The Jamaica Football Federation called Wark into U-20 camp from June 3-9 in Orlando, Fla. This marks Wark’s second invitation to camp with Jamaica. The future Gamecock was a member of the 2014 U-20 National Team for CONCACAF.
Both Lawrence and Wark will join the South Carolina for the 2015 season.
