Updated Parking and Shuttle Service Information

ESPN’s popular College GameDay Built by The Home Depot will be coming to Columbia next week, it was announced today.

The live three-hour show, which features Chris Fowler, Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, David Pollack and Samantha Steele, will be aired nationally beginning at 9 a.m. ET, Saturday, Oct. 6, on ESPNU, with the final two hours broadcast on ESPN.

The show will take place from the historic Horseshoe in the middle of the Carolina campus.

“The Horseshoe is one of the best sites we’ve ever had for College GameDay,” said Lee Fitting, College GameDay Senior Coordinating Producer. “The picturesque collegiate backdrop creates the perfect setting for the show. Given the fact that a highly-ranked Georgia team is coming to town will only add to the excitement of Saturday morning.”

The sixth-ranked and undefeated South Carolina Gamecocks (5-0, 3-0 SEC) will host the fifth-ranked and undefeated Georgia Bulldogs (5-0, 3-0 SEC) at a sold out Williams-Brice Stadium at 7 p.m. Saturday night. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN with Brent Musburger and Kirk Herbstreit describing the action and Heather Cox working the sidelines.

This will mark the sixth time that ESPN’s College GameDay will visit the South Carolina campus. The first visit came in November of 2001 for the USC-Florida game. They were on hand again in September of 2004 for the Carolina-Georgia contest. They returned for the first game of the Steve Spurrier Era when the Gamecocks hosted Central Florida on Aug. 31, 2005. They came back in October of 2006 when Carolina hosted Tennessee. Most recently, they were on hand when South Carolina upset No. 1 Alabama in October of 2010.

In addition, ESPNU’s “Road Trip” show will be in Columbia and highlight the Carolina campus and Top-10 matchup next week.
