COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina athletics is excited to announce an all-star lineup for the Nov. 2 #HoopsTakeover, which will be simulcast 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. ET, on GamecocksOnline.com and on 107.5 The Game in Columbia. The event will also be distributed via all South Carolina social media channels.
The day begins with Andy Demetra, the voice of Gamecock men’s basketball, hosting from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by the 107.5 radio hosts conducting their regular shows from the McGuire Club at Colonial Life Arena.
From 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. ET, at GamecocksOnline.com, a live video stream will broadcast the entire day. Several contests will occur throughout #HoopsTakeover on the radio and in social media to encourage and reward interaction.
Below is the schedule for the day (additions still coming, and schedule subject to change so check back frequently):
9-10 a.m. ET: Assistant women’s basketball coach Nikki McCray, ESPN personality Jimmy Dykes and associate head coach for the Gamecock men’s team, Brad Underwood
10-11 a.m. ET: Gamecock Athletics Director Ray Tanner, South Carolina native and Olympic teammate of head women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley, Katrina McClain
11 a.m.-12 p.m. ET: Executive director of the Gamecock Club, Patrick McFarland and play-by-play announcer for women’s basketball, Brad Muller, University President Dr. Harris Pastides and Student Body President Kenny Tracy, and Gamecock great BJ McKie
12-1 p.m. ET: ESPN college basketball analyst, Dick Vitale, Head men’s basketball coach Frank Martin will spend time speaking with West Virginia head coach Bob Huggins
1-2 p.m. ET: Coach Martin will spend much of the hour speaking about South Carolina basketball and taking questions from fans via social media and also callers. The hour will also feature a trio of men’s basketball players
2-3 p.m. ET: CBS college basketball analyst Jeff Goodman, former South Carolina women’s basketball standout La’Keisha Sutton, TV analyst Debbie Antonelli and SEC and ESPN commentator Dave Neal
3-4 p.m. ET: ESPN analyst Jay Bilas, Under Armour’s Walker Jones, former men’s player John Ribock and former women’s standout Jocelyn Penn
4-5 p.m. ET: Craig Pinkerton from the SEC, TV analyst LaChina Robinson and former player Mark Greiner
5-6 p.m. ET: Coach Staley will join the show, taking questions from fans via social media and also callers, while previewing the upcoming season
6-7 p.m. ET: Former Gamecock head basketball coach and TV personality Eddie Fogler along with South Carolina Athletics Hall of Fame inductee Dr. Martha Parker Hester.
My Carolina’s Basketball Preview Party will begin at 6:30 and is exclusive to Alumni Association and Gamecock Club members. Attendees will meet the Carolina players and coaches Frank Martin and Dawn Staley, enjoy light food and beverages, and get a preview of the upcoming 2012-13 season. Season tickets for both men’s and women’s basketball will be available at the Colonial Life Arena box office. Women’s basketball season tickets are only $50 or 4 for $100.
