COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Southeastern Conference has announced a slate of 14 conference games that will be televised in the 2011 women’s soccer season as part of the SEC-ESPN television agreement, and the television schedule includes two games that will be played at Stone Stadium in Columbia, S.C.
The South Carolina Gamecocks will appear on television on back-to-back Sundays in October. In the second week of the conference season, the Gamecocks will host Vanderbilt on Sunday, Oct. 2 in a nationally televised game on ESPNU that will kickoff at 3 p.m. The following Sunday, South Carolina will host Auburn on Oct. 9 at 2 p.m. in a regionally televised game on CSS.
The announced television schedule marks the fifth consecutive year that the South Carolina women’s soccer team will be featured on national television. The team went 4-2-0 last season in televised games, outscoring opponents 13-3 in those contests.
The 2011 SEC Tournament final will also be broadcast on ESPNU. The championship match will be played Sunday, Nov. 6 at 3:30 p.m. The tournament is held at the Orange Beach Soccer Complex in Orange Beach, Ala.
