IRVING, Texas –
The Gamecock men’s soccer team garnered academic honors from Conference USA today, earning the Sport Academic Award after posting the highest GPA of all men’s soccer teams that compete in the league (South Carolina is an affiliate member of C-USA in men’s soccer). The Gamecocks brought in a team GPA of 3.497 at the conclusion of the academic year. The Sport Academic Award is given to the team in each conference-sponsored sport with the highest GPA for the current academic year.

South Carolina begins its 2010 campaign with a non-conference road contest at High Point on Aug. 21. The match is set to start at 7 p.m.
