Program Overview

The Gamecock Cheer team is an integral part of the University of South Carolina Spirit Program under the Department of Athletics. The team performs at all South Carolina home football, men’s basketball and women’s basketball games, as well as a multitude of other campus and community events.

The Gamecock Cheer team consists of both an All-Girl and a CoEd team. Both teams compete nationally at NCA College Nationals in Daytona, Florida.

Members of the dance team must be full-time students in good academic standing at the University of South Carolina. Participation is a significant commitment from July through April, typically requiring an average of 20 hours per week for training, games and appearances.
