Personal Development

Branding

Student-athletes are taught the knowledge and strategies to control their personal and professional brands. Each year, the Athletics Department invites South Carolina Lettermen and business professionals from across the southeast to network with student-athletes who have an interest or major aligned with that professional’s career field. Student-athletes of all classes are invited to attend (juniors required). The submission of a resume is encouraged and shared with all 90+ professionals in attendance. During the event student-athletes are provided the opportunity to have a professional headshot taken.

Financial Education

Team-based Financial Education workshops introduce student-athletes to money management strategies that can be utilized during college and after graduation.  Student-athletes will learn about managing their stipend funding, budgeting tactics, credit cards, and more to prepare them to make sound financial decisions.

Spurs Up

SPURs Up (Seniors: Prepared, United & Ready) prepares seniors class student-athletes for their next steps after Carolina. Student-athletes meet with former Gamecock athletes as they share insights on their transition from USC athletics into their career, how to build a new community and succeed post-graduation.

New York Fashion Week

Each semester, one student-athletes is chosen to participate in the UofNY Fashion Week Program presented by CLC and Learfield. This unique academic enrichment program, which is an extension of CLC’s continued efforts to support innovative education initiatives for its partner institutions, provides future fashion leaders a behind-the-scenes look at the industry, including entry into select runway shows, panel discussions, and networking opportunities with industry leaders.
