OXFORD, Miss.- Cally Plummer had a match-high 11 kills as the South Carolina volleyball team swept the Ole Miss Rebels three games to none today in Oxford, Miss. Game scores were 30-18, 30-11, and 30-20. Carolina improves to 9-1 overall and 3-1 in SEC play and extended its unbeaten streak against Ole Miss to 13 consecutive matches.

Six different Gamecocks had at least five kills, including setter Megan Hosp, who had six kills for the year coming into the match, had six kills in the match today alone. Middle blocker Sam Alban had ten kills, while Niece Curry had nine and Nadia Sefferovich had eight.

In the opening game, Carolina hit .432 as a team, led by Sefferovich’s five kills and Plummer’s four. Sefferovich provided two service aces and Plummer added one to pace the Gamecocks.

The Gamecocks sped out to a 7-1 lead in game two and cruised to a 30-11 win. Carolina hit .432 for the game, led by Niece Curry’s four kills.

Game three was more of a struggle, as the two teams went back and forth with the lead, until Carolina took the lead at 11-10, which they would never give up, winning 30-20.

For the match, Carolina hit .412, while defensively, Berna Dwyer had a team high 10 digs.

“We played a total team match today,” Head Coach Kim Christopher said. “We played well both offensively and defensively. It was good to see that Megan had six kills. The offense really clicked today.”

Carolina returns to the court next Friday night at 7:00 when they travel to Kentucky for another SEC road clash.
