COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina women’s tennis team opened play in its annual Lady Gamecock Fall Classic in fine fashion Friday, winning 13 of 14 singles and doubles matches to dominate opening day action.

In singles action the Gamecocks were an impressive 9-1. No. 51 Jennifer Radman defeated Wilmington’s Bullard 6-2,6-1. Junior transfer Jodi Kenoyer ran her USC record to a perfect 4-0 with her 6-4,6-3 win over Kannan of UNC-G. Also winners for Carolina were Katarina Markovski, Lynn-Yin Tan, Magda Wojdyto, Catherine Brown and Audrey George.

Playing in second round action in the C Draw, Wojdyto and Brown both advanced to Saturday’s semi-finals while George dropped a match to M. Miller of Georgia Tech 6-3,6-4.

In doubles action, the Gamecocks were a perfect 4-0. The No. 8 team of Radman and Kathy Boyanovich toppled Orellana/Peel of UNC-G 8-1 while No. 47 Tan/Kenoyer had no troubles with Malina/Scatourchio of the College of Charleston, winning 8-2.

Play continues Saturday at the Maxcy Gregg Tennis Center in Columbia.
