LEXINGTON, Ky. –
The South Carolina men’s and women’s divers competed at the NCAA Zones Competition this weekend, with four USC divers earning a chance to compete at the NCAA Championships. Senior Brandon Hulko, sophomore Holly Hodges and freshmen Allison Brennan and Tracey Richardson all will compete in the NCAA Championships in the next two weeks.

“I’m very excited about what happened this weekend with our divers,” said USC head diving coach Todd Sherritt. “We had a lot of compliments for our team, especially with our freshmen divers competing as well as they did. In terms of freshmen making the NCAA Championships, it is very hard to make it, but we did a great job.”

Competing on the three-meter board, Hulko placed fourth with a score of 540.85. Also competing on the three-meter for USC was freshman Dean Emmerton who placed 16th (466.25) and senior Brad Brown who placed 25th (265.75). Hulko now advances to the NCAA Championships in two weeks in Athens, Ga.

On the women’s side, Hodges followed up her success at the SEC Championships with a third place finish on the one-meter board. Hodges finished with a score of 295.00, also ahead of this year’s SEC champion. Also having a top meet was freshman Allison Brennan. Brennan placed seventh with a score of 271.10. Freshman Tracey Richardson had her top finish on the three-meter board, also placing seventh in that event.

The NCAA Championships for the women’s squad begins March 21 and ends March 23 in Austin, Texas. The NCAA Championships for the men’s squad is next week from March 28-30 in Athens, Ga.
