Dallas, Texas – South Carolina diver Holly Hodges continued her success at the Speedo National Diving Championships, placing third in the women’s one-meter final on Wednesday evening. Hodges finished the one-meter competition with a score of 253.29. With her third place finish, Hodges has earned a spot on the 2002 U.S. National Team.

On Tuesday, Hodges earned a spot in the three-meter final after placing fifth in the preliminary competition. The final for the three-meter board is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Friday.

Hodges earned a spot in the three-meter final of the Speedo National Diving Championships, placing fifth in the preliminary competition on Tuesday with a score of 490.51. The final for the three-meter competition is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Friday. Hodges is coming off a successful sophomore season at Carolina in which she placed ninth at the NCAA Championships on the one-meter board and earned second (three-meter) and fifth place (one-meter) finishes at the SEC Championships.

Also competing at the national championships for Carolina is sophomore diver and Columbia native Lauren King. King finished 27th on the one-meter board with a score of 181.68. In Tuesday’s three-meter prelims, King placed 24th with a score of 219.21. The 2002-03 season will be King’s first year competing at Carolina after transferring from Georgia.
