Fresh off two wins at the ESPN 1340 Radio Shootout in Charleston, S.C. last weekend, the South Carolina baseball team (4-1) has moved up in the latest baseball polls released Monday. South Carolina is ranked seventh in the latest Collegiate Baseball poll and 12th by Baseball America. South Carolina is the highest ranked SEC team in each poll.
South Carolina and The Citadel will make up Sunday’s postponed baseball game this Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. at Riley Park in Charleston, S.C. South Carolina finished 2-0 over the weekend at the ESPN 1340 Radio Shootout with wins vs. James Madison and Old Dominion.
The Gamecocks lead the series with The Citadel that began in 1900. South Carolina owns a 106-42-1 record vs. the Bulldogs. Both teams split the two games played in 2002 with Carolina defeating The Citadel 2-0 in Columbia and The Citadel earning a 5-1 win in Charleston.
South Carolina returns home this weekend hosting a series with Duquesne beginning Friday afternoon. First pitch at Sarge Frye Field on Friday is set for 3 p.m. with Saturday and Sunday game to begin at 1:30 p.m.
