The 24th ranked University of South Carolina women’s tennis team dropped one spot in the Omni Hotels’ Collegiate Tennis Rankings released by the ITA on Wednesday. The Gamecocks moved down in the polls despite defeating NC State 6-1 and Middle Tennessee 5-2 last week.

The Gamecocks open up SEC play this weekend with Mississippi State and Ole Miss. The Gamecocks host Mississippi State on Friday at 1:30 pm and Ole Miss on Sunday at 1 pm. South Carolina defeated the Bulldogs 5-1 last year and the Rebels 4-1. USC holds a 12-2 mark against Mississippi State, winning the last four while Ole Miss has a 11-4 edge against South Carolina but the Gamecocks have won the last two.
