Columbia, S.C. – The 13th-ranked South Carolina Gamecocks (12-5) look to build on a five-game winning steak as they host the University of Virginia (6-8) on Wednesday March 5th. First pitch of the doubleheader is slated for 3 p.m. at USC’s Beckham Field.

This marks the 33rd meeting between the Gamecocks and Cavaliers, but the first meeting since 1998. USC swept Virginia 4-3 and 8-6 that season and Carolina currently leads the series 27-5.

The Gamecocks return home to Beckham Field after a three-week stretch of tournament play. USC capped off the Strawberry Festival Tournament in Plant City, Fla. last weekend with an 8-4 victory over Virginia Tech. At the Strawberry Festival Tournament USC went 3-0.

Virginia travels to Columbia after dropping a 2-0 and 8-0 doubleheader to Coastal Carolina Monday night. The Cavs fall to 1-8 on the road this season.
