USC travels to the state of Alabama for two key SEC matches this weekend beginning Friday at No. 29 Auburn and concluding Sunday at No. 16 Alabama. The Gamecocks take to the road with a 13-2 overall record and a 3-2 SEC record.

Carolina defeated No. 30 Clemson, 4-3 on Wednesday for its ninth-straight victory over the intrastate rival The men’s tennis teams holds the school’s longest active winning streak against Clemson and has won 10 of its last 11 meetings with the Tigers. Head coach Kent DeMars has won 13 of 15 matches vs. Clemson.

USC owns a 11-8 advantage in their all-time series with Auburn including a 5-2 win last season in Columbia. The schools have split their last six meetings.

Alabama leads USC 13-8 in the all-time series. Last season, the Gamecocks dropped a 4-3 decision to the Crimson Tide in Columbia. Carolina’s last win vs. Alabama came in 1998.

Three Gamecocks are listed among the ITA singles rankings: Seth Rose (No. 67), Angelo Niculescu (No. 72), and Carl Wermee (No. 116). Rose plays at No. 1 singles and has ten dual match victories this season, Niculescu began 2003 with a 12-match winning streak and Wermee is 8-1 in singles matches, owning the team’s top winning percentage (.889).
