Columbia, S.C. – No. 13/15 South Carolina softball (22-7, 6-2 SEC) hopes to add on in the win column as they travel to Auburn, Ala. this weekend to face the Auburn Tigers (18-18, 6-6 SEC). The Gamecocks and Tigers will play a doubleheader on Saturday at noon (CT) and a single game on Sunday at noon (CT). This marks the 17th meeting between the two teams and Carolina leads the series 14-2. Last year, USC swept Auburn 3-0 in Columbia. Carolina has won the last six meetings against the Tigers. USC is coming off of a three-game sweep over Arkansas while Auburn swept Ole Miss 3-0 and defeated UAB 5-2 on Wednesday. Leading the way for the Tigers is Ashley Griffin who is hitting .327 and has a team high 15 doubles, and Paige Jones leads the team with 17 RBIs. As a team, Auburn has a .223 average while USC boasts a .297 average. Carolina also has a lower ERA with 2.09 to AU’s 3.27.

Debralee Troesh leads Carolina in home runs with seven, the most for an individual since Joyce McMillin had eight in 2000. The school record for home runs in a single season by a single player is nine, also held by McMillin.
