The 14th-ranked Carolina Gamecocks (25-10, 9-5) hope to get back on the winning track as they travel to Lexington, Ky. to take on the Kentucky Wildcats (9-26, 1-14) April 5-6. Both Saturday’s doubleheader and Sunday’s single game are scheduled for noon start times at the UK Softball Complex. Carolina leads the series against the Wildcats 18-6 and has a four-game win streak against Kentucky. Fans can listen to the games on internet broadcast at www.uscsports.com.

Last year, the Gamecocks swept UK 3-0 in Columbia. In 2001 the series was held in Lexington and the Wildcats took two games to one. In Lexington, UK has a slight 6-5 lead over the Gamecocks for the series.

Kentucky enters the series with a 13-game losing streak. Their last win came back on March 15 when they defeated SEC opponent Ole Miss. Comparing the two teams, USC leads in hitting with a .266 average to UK’s .214. The Gamecocks have also recorded 241 hits to the Wildcats 184, including 22 USC home runs to 13 Kentucky long balls.
