Columbia, S.C.- – South Carolina’s Lauren Ford and Lynae Vanden Hull earned all-tournament honors at the Gamecock Invitational this past weekend. This marks the second time this season that both players have earned all-tournament honors. Ford led the team in hitting with a .329 average and 1.15 blocks per game, while Vanden Hull led with 44 kills and 3.38 kills per game.

Ford, a native of Indianapolis, Ind., tied her career high in kills with 17 in the match against Santa Clara, and Vanden Hull tied her career high of 21 kills in the match against George Washington. It is also the second time this season that the Papillion, Neb. native has reached the 20-plus kill mark.

With a 6-6 record, USC improved to .500 for the season and finished second at the tournament while Santa Clara (8-4) won the title. The Broncos Becky Potter was named tournament MVP.

The Gamecock Invitational concludes USC’s non-conference schedule and the Gamecocks open SEC play this weekend as they travel to LSU and Arkansas.
