Columbia, S.C. –
The University of South Carolina received their 10th consecutive NCAA tournament bid on Wednesday. The Gamecocks (13-9) head to Clemson to face Wake Forest (11-11) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament while Clemson (22-3) will face Troy State (14-7). The streak of 10 straight is the longest active streak of any USC women’s team and it currently ranks as the 11th longest active streak in Division I.

The meeting with Wake Forest will be USC’s first since a 4-3 loss to the Demon Deacons on February 27, 2001 in Winston-Salem. It will be the two teams first meeting in an NCAA tournament regional since May 16, 1999 in Columbia where the Gamecocks defeated Wake 5-2. Carolina holds a 9-7 mark against Wake Forest all-time. If Carolina wins against Wake, USC will face the winner of the Clemson-Troy State winner on the following day. USC holds a 21-17 mark all-time against Clemson while never meeting Troy State. USC will play Wake Forest on Saturday, May 15th at 10am and the winner of that match will play the winner of the Clemson-Troy Sate match on Sunday at 1pm.
