* South Carolina’s appearance in the 2004 NCAA Tournament is their 11th consecutive appearance.
* Ohio State recorded their first win over the Gamecocks in the two schools’ history. South Carolina leads the all-time series, 3-1. The last time the two teams faced each other was in 1981.
* Ohio State advances to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive year. They will face host North Carolina on Sunday at 1 p.m., at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.
