COLUMBIA, S.C. – A total of 28 University of South Carolina student-athletes were named to the 2004-05 SEC Winter Academic Honor Roll Thursday by SEC Commissioner Mike Slive. Overall, there were 318 total student-athletes named. Of the Gamecocks’ 28 named, the women’s swimming and diving team led with 11 honorees. The 2004-05 Winter Academic Honor Roll is based on grades from the 2004 Spring, Summer and Fall terms.

Men’s swimming and diving and women’s basketball followed with seven honorees each while men’s basketball rounded out the group with three.

The Gamecocks ranked seventh among the 12 schools and fourth among the SEC Eastern Division schools. The University of Florida led with 45 while Kentucky was second with 38.
