Athens, Ga. – The South Carolina women’s golf team finished 14th at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic played at the University of Georgia Golf Course in Athens with a final score of 313-310-322=945.
For the second consecutive tournament, freshman Caroline Rominger led the way for the Gamecocks, finishing in a tie for 31st with a final score of 74-75-81=230. Sophomore Jenna Pearson finished in a tie for 63rd after turning in an 81-79-78=238. Senior Tiffany Catafygiotu matched Pearson with a 77-77-84=238.
Junior Erica Battle finished in a tie for 71st with an 81-79-81=241 with freshman Blythe Worley capping the Gamecock effort with an 84-84-82=250.
Carolina returns to action next weekend when it heads to Greensboro, N.C., to compete in the Bryan National Collegiate.
