Columbia, S.C. – The South Carolina baseball team (32-12) head back to the road for a Wednesday night non-conference game vs. Fuman (21-20) at Greenville Municipal Stadium. First pitch is set for 7 p.m. with the game televised live on C-SET TV. Live audio and gametracker stats will also be available at www.uscsports.com. South Carolina fans can also catch the game on the internet with Tommy Moody and Tom Price calling the action.

The rivalry with Furman dates back to 1896 and the fourth official season of baseball at the University of South Carolina. The Gamecocks and Paladins split the first two contests between the in-state schools. Carolina leads the series 97-49-2 including a 7-4 victory last season in Columbia. Steve Pearce hit a three-run homer and Jason Fletcher worked four scoreless innings to earn his second win as a Gamecocks.

South Carolina head coach Ray Tanner is one win shy of his 800th career win. Now in his 18th season as a head coach and ninth at Carolina, Tanner has accumulated a 799-337-3 record (.703) and is the sixth winningest active coach by winning percentage in Division I baseball. There are 29 active coaches in college baseball with 800 or more wins.
