The South Carolina women’s golf team heads to Gainesville, Fla., to compete at the 2005 NCAA Regional Championships from May 5-7 at The University of Florida Golf Course (par 70, 5,773 yards).
FAMILIAR TERRITORY
Under head coach Kristi Coggins, the NCAA Regionals has become familiar territory for the Gamecocks, as the 11th-year head coach has guided Carolina to the Regionals 10 times.

GLIMPSE INTO THE FUTURE
Of the five players competing for South Carolina at the NCAA Regional Championships, three are freshmen, one is a sophomore and one is a junior.
BATTLE, PEARSON RETURN TO REGIONALS
Junior Erica Battle and sophomore Jenna Pearson both have NCAA Regional Championship experience, as both players competed at the NCAA East Regional last year. Pearson carded an 83-76-82=241, with Battle finishing with a score of 84-82-77=243.
SCHEDULE STRENGTH MATTERS
According to the latest Golfweek/Sagarin rankings, South Carolina played the fifth-most difficult schedule in the nation. Only Oklahoma State, Vanderbilt, Arizona and Texas have played tougher schedules.
