Columbia, S.C. – South Carolina catcher Phil Disher earned MVP honors at the Valley Baseball League All-Star game played on Sunday afternoon in Winchester, Va. Disher, a member of the Front Royal Cardinals, played on the Northern Division All-Stars and went 2-for-2 with a run scored. Disher also won the home run hittng derby contest against Dustin Roberts of West Alabama before the all-star game.

Disher is batting .338 as a member of Front Royal’s summer team with seven HR and 22 RBI on the year. The native of Aiken, S.C. will be a sophomore on next year’s baseball squad.
