Columbia, SC – The University of South Carolina topped the SEC Freshmen Academic Honor Roll with 76 freshmen student-athletes, announced on Thursday by SEC Commissioner Mike Slive. The list totaled 469 freshmen student-athletes from the 12 schools.

USC Women’s Swimming and Diving led all sports at the university with 11 freshmen student-athletes honored. For the men’s teams, soccer topped the list with seven honorees.

The University of Florida followed close behind the Gamecocks with 63 honorees, while the University of Georgia was third overall with 47.

The 2005 SEC Freshmen Academic Honor Roll is based on grades from the 2004-05 academic calendar. The complete 2005 Gamecock SEC Freshmen Academic Honor Roll follows:
