Columbia, S.C. –
USC’s Gamecocks are teaming up with the Richland County Public Library again this year to emphasize the importance of reading at the annual Pigskin Poets program, set for 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 21 in the Bostick Auditorium of the Main Library, 1431 Assembly St.

Children of all ages are encouraged to attend this free program, a celebration of the library’s Summer Reading Club program.

“This partnership with the Gamecocks helps emphasize the importance of reading to young people,” said Padgett Lewis, RCPL’s public relations manager. “They see firsthand that reading is fun, and that books are available on any subject that interests them.”

2005 marks the eighth year for the Pigskin Poets program.
