Columbia, S.C. – The 2005 South Carolina Cross Country squad will open its 2005 season at the USC Cross Country Invitational on Friday evening at Owens Field. The meet, which is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m., features six schools from last year’s field, along with eight newcomers.

The returning schools include UNC-Pembroke, South Carolina State, Georgia Southern, Coker College, along with USC and in-state rival Clemson. Included in the cast of newcomers are five other in-state schools, including: Charleston Southern, College of Charleston, Francis Marion, The Citadel, and Wofford.
