HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The South Carolina Garnet team is currently in second place following the first round of play in the Coker College Intercollegiate on Monday at Hartsville Country Club in Hartsville, S.C. Freshman Baker Elmore shot 69 and is tied for second place on the individual leaderboard to pace the Gamecocks.

South Carolina fired a 295 (+7) and trails only host Coker College, which shot 289 (+1).

Redshirt freshman Patrick Cunning carded a one-over par 73 and sits in a tie for sixth place. Sophomore Warren Thomas is tied for eighth after a first-round 74. Senior Robert Svensson carded a 79 on the opening 18 holes and is tied for 24th while redshirt sophomore David Kite posted an 80, which puts him tied for 27th.

The final round is set for Tuesday.
