WOMEN’S GOLF
The women’s golf squad won the seven-team Chrysler Invitational in Destin over the weekend. It was their first tourney title since 2002. Jenna Pearson and Whitney Simons tied for sixth on the leader board.
MEN’S SOCCER (8-6-1, 5-1-1 C-USA)
Men’s soccer routed Tulsa and 9th-ranked SMU this past weekend. Josh Alcala was named the C-USA Offensive Player of the Week after collecting two goals and an assist. They travel to Florida this week to make up games postponed by the hurricane. The C-USA Tournament is set for Dallas next week.
FOOTBALL (5-3, 3-3)
The Gamecocks won for the first time ever in Knoxville, a 16-15 victory over the Vols on Saturday. Sidney Rice was named the SEC Freshman of the Week after catching two TD passes and Josh Brown was selected as the league’s Special Teams Player of the Week after hitting a career-long 49-yard fi eld goal for the game-winner.
CROSS COUNTRY
USC placed 11th at the SEC Championships, held at Fort Jackson on Saturday. Each of the Gamecocks top seven runners posted personal best times.
WOMEN’S SOCCER (6-12, 2-9)
Women’s soccer wrapped up its season with a 3-0 loss at Florida. The Gamecocks were 2-8 in games decided by one goal this season.
SWIMMING & DIVING (M: 1-3; W: 1-4)
The swimmers fell at nationally-ranked Tennessee on Friday Dan White won two events for the men and diver Allison Brennan won both the women’s one-meter and three-meter boards. They compete at Clemson Friday.
MEN’S TENNIS
Men’s tennis competes at the Bulldog scramble this weekend in Athens wrapping up the fall slate.
VOLLEYBALL (10-9, 3-6)
Freshman outside hitter Marija Milosevic recorded 28 kills to tie the school record for kills in a single match in Sunday’s loss to Georgia. The volleyball squad travels to Kentucky for a match on Friday.
WOMEN’S TENNIS
The women’s tennis team claimed three singles wins and one doubles win at the annual Southern Intercollegiate hosted by USC. Freshman Gira Schofield won the A1 singles fi nal to lead the Gamecocks.
MEN’S GOLF
Men’s golf placed seventh among 18 squads at the Isleworth Collegiate. The field included 14 of the nation’s top 25 teams. Eirik Johansen posted his third top-10 finish in as many outings, tying for eighth.
EQUESTRIAN
The equestrian team is preparing for its final competition of the fall at Auburn on Nov. 5.
