COLUMBIA, S.C. – The College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) recently announced its 2005-06 Academic All-America Teams and the University of South Carolina’s women’s team is ranked third among all Division I schools with a team GPA of 3.523.
“This is a great achievement for our team and I am very proud of them,” said head coach Don Gibb. “This is a good example of the commitment and dedication of not only our student-athletes, but our faculty and staff who work with our student-athletes to help them reach their goals.”
USC was also the highest finishing SEC school on the list. South Carolina finished ahead of Alabama (3.31) and Georgia (3.30), which ranked 17th and 19th, respectively.
The USC men’s team finished 32nd with a team GPA of 2.98. The Gamecocks were one of five SEC schools to make the list and was the third highest SEC school on the list.
