COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina equestrian team released its 2006-07 schedule and the Gamecocks will host five home events at One Wood Farm in Blythewood. The Gamecocks will open with Baylor, then host National Champion Auburn, Stephen F. Austin, National Western Champion Oklahoma State and Southern Equestrian Champion Georgia.
The Gamecocks open the fall season on Sept. 22 with Baylor at One Wood Farm and their second home competition against Auburn on Sept. 30. USC returns home in January when they host Stephen F. Austin and then National Western Champion, Oklahoma State in February. The Garnet and Black’s final home competition of the season will match the Gamecocks with S.E.C. rival, Georgia.
South Carolina will make road trips to Fresno State, New Mexico State, TCU and SMU, in addition to Auburn and Georgia. The Southern Equestrian Championships will take place in Auburn, Ala., April 6-7, and the Varsity Equestrian National Championships are slated for April 18-20 in Waco, Texas.
