Columbia, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Men’s Golf team remains in fourth place at the Augusta State Invitational after two rounds. The Gamecocks shot a 287 (-1) at Champions Retreat Golf Club (Par 72) Saturday to bring their two-day total to 576 (E). Freshman George Bryan is tied for third individually and sits just two shots behind the leader. Final round action is set for tomorrow.

Bryan, the reigning SEC Golfer of the Week, shot even par after recording a birdie and bogey today. On Friday, his opening round score of 66 (-6) set a Champion’s Retreat record, breaking Augusta State’s Carter Newman’s 68 (-4) score.

Junior Warren Thomas is now tied for 20th after firing a 71 (-1) in the second round to bring his tournament total to 145 (+1). Holding a share of 30th with a score of 146 (+2) is sophomore Florian Fritsch who finished with five birdies and a score of 71 (-1).

Sophomore Allen Koon carded a 73 (+1), which puts him in a tie at 39th with a score of 147 (+3), while Patrick Cunning, who is six over par, sits at 50th with a score of 150.
