Junior Blythe Worley of the University of South Carolina women’s golf team was named to the 2007 Southeastern Conference Community Service Team. The Community Service team is designed to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to their community in superior service efforts.

Worley (Greenville, N.C.) is a National Down Syndrome Society Buddy Walk volunteer, Ronald McDonald House volunteer, and Harvest Hope Food Bank volunteer. She also is a Reader for Conder Elementary School and has volunteered with Lift Up America. Worley has been a member of both the President’s List (perfect 4.0-grade point average) and the Dean’s List while at South Carolina. She was also tabbed to the 2005 SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll and the 2006 SEC Academic Honor Roll while double majoring in management and marketing.

Worley has competed in eight tournaments this season, placing as high as seventh at the Auburn Derby Invitational.

The Gamecocks will begin play at the 2007 SEC Championships at Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Miss., on Friday morning. Live scoring and results will be available on www.uscsports.com
