COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Southeastern Conference released the official SEC Tournament bracket on Sunday and the South Carolina Gamecocks (34-22, 12-16) are the No. 7 seed and will face the SEC Western Division champions in No. 2 LSU (49-10, 22-5). The tournament will be held at Jane B. Moore Field in Auburn University and first pitch for South Carolina’s game is set for 2:30 p.m. (ET). All games, except the championship game, will be shown live through Gamecock All-Access’ video streaming.

“We are very happy to have taken care of getting to the SEC tournament on field and not allowing the weather to dictate our advancing,” said head coach Joyce Compton. “We are looking at post season as a new beginning and look forward to getting back to the post season this year.”

During the season, LSU won the series 2-1 against South Carolina with the Gamecocks taking game one 2-1, and the Tigers winning the last two, 8-0 (5) and 2-0. The Tigers were ranked No. 5 at the time and are currently No. 4.

This marks the Gamecocks tenth appearance to the tournament and a return after missing the 2006 season. The Garnet and Black finished the SEC season 12-16, the most wins for South Carolina in conference action since 2004. The Gamecocks are 15-14 in the SEC Tournament and won the title in 1997 and 2000.

The Tennessee Lady Vols are the conference champions and will take on No. 8 Ole Miss. The other match-ups include No. 3 Alabama vs. No. 6 Georgia and No. 4 Florida vs. No. 5 Mississippi State.

The tournament is a single-elimination game with the championship game set for Saturday, May 12 at 1:00 p.m. (ET). The game will be televised live on FSN South.
