South Carolina
South Carolina collected 12 hits, the first time getting double-digit hits since collecting 10 against Kentucky on April 21.

Lisa Longo’s double in the fifth inning extended her hitting streak to seven games. Her streak is the second-longest of the season for a Gamecock, bested only by Ashton Payne’s nine game streak from Feb. 17 to Feb. 28.

McKenna Hughes went 3-for-3 with a walk against Oregon. Hughes last reached base on all of her at-bats when she went 4-for-4 against Georgia on April 15.

Lisa Longo’s assist to home plate in the top of the sixth inning marked the second consecutive game that the Gamecocks threw a runner out at home.

Melissa Hendon struck out the final batter of the seventh inning to give her 10 strikeouts in the game. Hendon has struck out 10+ batters in nine games this season.

Melissa Hendon allowed a season-high eight earned runs, surpassing the six given up against Florida on April 24.

South Carolina plays the winner of the Penn State/N.C. State game in a 7 p.m. elimination game.

Oregon
Oregon improves to 3-0 all-time against South Carolina. The last meeting was a 4-1 victory in 1994 at the UNLV Spring Fling.

Jenn Salling has driven in five of Oregon’s nine runs through the first two games of the Columbia Regional.

Ann Marie Topps extended her Oregon single-season record after hitting a three-run homerun, her 19th of the season, in the top of the fifth inning. Topps’s longball also makes her the PAC-10 leader, with Arizona State’s Kaitlin Cochran behind with 18 homeruns.

The Ducks improved to 2-3 all-time in NCAA Regional second-day winners bracket play. Oregon’s other 2-0 start in the NCAA Regional’s occurred in the 2004 Tallahassee Regional when they defeated Bethune-Cookman (1-0) and South Florida (12-0).

Oregon advances to the championship game tomorrow at 1 p.m. They will face the winner of the South Carolina-Penn State/N.C. State game held tonight at 7 p.m.
