NORMAN, Okla. – University of South Carolina freshman golfer George Bryan IV (Chapin, S.C./Dutch Fork) has been named to the PING All-Southeast Region team the Golf Coaches Association of America announced Wednesday.

A two-time SEC Golfer of the Week, Bryan is the only Gamecock to compete in all 11 varsity events this season. The freshman owns a 73.06 stroke average and a pair of top-five finishes to lead the team. He led Carolina by tying for 10th at the NCAA West Regional and his total score of 68-67-69=204 (-12) tied for the fourth-lowest in school history. Bryan shared second place at the Augusta State Invitational with a three-day score of 210 at Champions Retreat and also set a course record with an opening round 66. Bryan has five top-20 finishes this season.

The PING All-Region teams consist of the top 15 individuals in their region in the Individual Ranking System. Additionally, any player ranked nationally in the top 75 according to the Golfstat or the Sagarin rankings and not included their regions top 15 are added to their respective All-Region team. Members of the PING All-Region teams are automatically eligible for PING All-America honors, to be announced following the NCAA Division I Championships.

Currently, Bryan and the rest of the Gamecocks are competing in the NCAA Championship in Williamsburg, Va. The event runs May 30-June 2.
