INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – South Carolina swimmers Kyle Cormier and Nick Walkotten made the Olympic Trial cuts with their performances at the ConocoPhillips USA Swimming Nationals held July 31 to August 4 in Indianapolis.

Walkotten, a junior transfer from Hudsonville, Mich., qualified in both the 100m and 200m butterfly. He finished 18th in the 100m butterfly with a time of 54.34 and followed with a 26th place finish in the 200m butterfly with a time of 2:02.39. Cormier, a senior from Pensacola Beach, Fla., finished 50th in the 100m freestyle with a time of 51.50 to qualify for the Olympic Trial cuts.

Cormier earned Honorable Mention All-American honors last season after finishing 11th at the NCAA Championships in the 800 freestyle relay. He also placed in the 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle and 200 IM.
