Coach Steve Spurrier Video
The South Carolina football team worked out twice on Monday at the Bluff Road practice fields. It marked the first two-a-day practice of the fall for the Gamecocks.
“We just had a little bit of hitting tonight,” said Head Coach Steve Spurrier following the evening session. “A little bit of goal line scrimmage, tackling and so forth. I don’t think anybody got hurt. Bobby Wallace sort of got his (right) shoulder bruised up a little bit. We had a couple of pretty decent practices we think. We’ll practice again tomorrow night.”
In addition to Wallace, Taylor Rank and Jim Hutton were limited due to right shoulder sprains. Joe Hills remains sidelined with a right knee sprain. Jamire Williams missed the evening practice with a hamstring injury. Jeremy Burgess was held out of action with a slight concussion.
Coach Spurrier mentioned that walk-on Bryan Kingrey is a possibility for one of the available scholarships. “He’s a potential candidate,” said Spurrier. “He’s a good student, does everything we ask. He’s a good player – a good walk-on. He’s done very well.”
The Gamecocks will return to the practice fields on Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m. The practice is closed.
