Recap | Box Score

South Carolina Head Coach Susan Walvius
“Our team came out in the second half and really worked. We knew this would be a tough game after watching game film. The second half we did a much better job attacking defensively.”

Demetress Adams played well and brought leadership to our team. Brionna Dickerson shot the ball well for us tonight.”

“To have an opportunity to play in the tournament is a lot of fun for us and we’re excited about advancing. When we came back from break, the Thursday to Monday practices were OK. They were competitive but not great. Our Monday and Tuesday practices after we knew (we were in the tournament), we were more focused.”

Regarding Samone Kennedy against the press
“She’s done that for us a lot in SEC play. She handles it well. That’s her game. She’s hard for other guards to maintain, and she did a fantastic job.”

Jordan Jones • Fr. • G
“They were playing physical with us so we wanted to take the chance to play with it.”

On the time between the end of the SEC Tournament and this game
“The good thing about this teams is that we came back to practice and busted our butts, knowing that we could get a chance at a post season. It was like a second chance at a season. Now we have a tough N.C. State team on Monday, and we have to remember how well we played and build off that. “

Brionna Dickerson • Jr. • G
On working so well with Jordan Jones
“Our style of game definitely feeds off each other, and we enjoy it. Every one on our team brings something to the table. Any given night one of us will be hot. Tonight was great because more than one person was hot.”

On being fully recovered from an injury that slowed her throughout the season
“I feel a lot better. The rest from spring break helped. We all just rested our bodies. It was a struggle for [me] to be hurt. Definitely, it was difficult not to give my best to the team.”

North Carolina A&T Head Coach Patricia Cage-Bibbs
“I felt we had a good game plan. It worked well for a while, then all of a sudden it stopped working. To win a game you have to hit free throws and rebounds.”

“They didn’t do anything differently (in the second half). We cost them 25 turnovers, and we didn’t capitalize off that.”
