BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Seniors Mandee Cregar and Michael Burke are South Carolina’s nominees for the Southeastern Conference’s Swimming and Diving Community Service Team. The league sponsors a team for all 20 of its recognized sports. The Community Service Team looks to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to their community in superior service efforts.

Cregar volunteers for the Harvest Hope Food Bank, Walk-for-Life Breast Cancer, HomeWorks of South Carolina, American Red Cross, Children’s Museum, Prevent Child Abuse and Children’s Hospital. The Washington Township, N.J., native is also on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and has been named to the Dean’s List, President’s List and the SEC Academic Honor Roll.

Burke has committed his time to volunteering for Harvest Hope Food Bank, HomeWorks of South Carolina, American Red Cross, Prevent Child Abuse and Children’s Hospital. The Des Moines, Iowa, native is also Vice President of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and is on the President’s List and the SEC Academic Honor Roll.
