Sophomore forward Chad Gray has been dismissed from the men’s basketball team for repeated violations of team rules, head coach Darrin Horn announced today.

“We wanted Chad to succeed both on and off the court at the University of South Carolina and gave him ample opportunity to do so,” said Horn. “Unfortunately, he was not able to meet the minimum requirements that we have established, and we are disappointed in that. We wish him nothing but the best in his future.”

Gray, a 6-7, 205-pounder from Kingstree, S.C., averaged 2.2 points and 1.4 rebounds per game while playing in 19 contests, including one start for the Gamecocks during the 2007-08 campaign.
