BEIJING – As the 2008 Olympics begin today in Beijing, China, South Carolina swimmer Sharntelle McLean prepares to represent her home country of Trinidad & Tobago in the freestyle swimming event.

“We are very proud of Sharntell for her work and dedication for these Olympic games,” South Carolina head coach McGee Moody said. “We know that Sharntelle will positively represent the entire University at the games.”
