COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Gamecock men’s soccer team (6-3-1, 1-0-0 C-USA) returns to Conference USA play when it hosts Tulsa (7-3-1, 2-0-0 C-USA) on Sunday as part of a men’s and women’s soccer doubleheader at Stone Stadium. Game time is set for 1 p.m. The Carolina women’s team will host Alabama in the second half of the doubleheader at 3:30 p.m.

South Carolina most recently earned a 3-2 victory over intrastate rival Furman in non-conference play on Wednesday. South Carolina dominated on the offensive end, posting 17 shots against just seven by Furman. Sam Arthur led the Carolina attack with six shots, while Blake Brettschneider added three and junior defender Evan O’Dell and senior midfielder Jeff Scannella each contributed two in the win. Arthur, sophomore midfielder Danny Cates, junior forward Mike Lindsay and sophomore midfielder Vance Benson each picked up an assist for the Gamecocks. Arthur’s two goals marked the second-straight contest the junior striker has scored two goals for Carolina.

Arthur leads the Gamecock offense with seven goals and two assists, while Brettschneider has contributed two goals and one assist on the year. South Carolina goalkeeper Jimmy Maurer has played every minute in net for the Gamecocks, holding a 0.98 goals against average with four shutouts on the year.

Tulsa rides a five-game winning streak entering Sunday’s match, having most recently defeated Kentucky, 1-0, on Wednesday in league action. Austin Neil and Hunter Christiansen lead the Tulsa attack, each with three goals and two assists on the year. Goalkeeper Andy Aguilar has played the majority of time in net for the Golden Hurricane, holding a 1.15 goals against average.

Following Sunday’s contest, South Carolina will host SMU on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
