COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina’s divers will look to earn their way into the NCAA Championships this weekend as they compete Friday through Sunday at the NCAA Zone B Diving Regionals at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center in Atlanta.

Juniors Taryn Zack and Allison Barr, along with freshman Sarah Deuell, will compete on both the 1- and 3-meter boards for the Carolina women; Barr will also participate in the platform diving event. For the men, sophomore Ryan Kuser and freshmen Rylan Ridenour and Nikolas Sachs are entered in the 1- and 3-meter events.

Last season, Zack finished second on the 1-meter board at the Zone competition in Knoxville, Tenn., to earn her second straight berth into the NCAA Championships. Her 12-dive score of 569.85 was second only to Miami’s Jenna Dreyer.

Eight women’s spots and seven men’s entries in the NCAA Championships will be up for grabs at the meet with more than 30 divers entered on both the men’s and women’s sides. The meet begins Friday with women’s 1-meter competition at 11 a.m., followed by the men’s 3-meter event at 3 p.m. On Saturday, the women will compete on the 3-meter at 11 a.m. with the men’s 1-meter set for an approximate 3:30 p.m. start. Platform competition for the women will begin at 10 a.m. Sunday; South Carolina will not enter any men in the platform event.
