COLUMBIA, S.C. – Over the coming holiday weekend, GamecocksOnline.com along with all member institutions of the CBS College Sports Network will have their core infrastructure moved to a data center in Los Angeles that ranks as one of the most prominent technology facilities in the Western U.S. As a result of this move, GamecocksOnline.com will see a significant expansion of its core infrastructure environment and its network connectivity. This move will enable us to better serve our fans and constituents.
The effort will begin at approximately 3:01 a.m. ET Friday, July 2. We expect the move to be completed within 24-36 hours, however, it may carry into Sunday, July 4. Throughout the move, the Web site will remain visible to the world, but there will be a few components of the site that will be unavailable or will not function. Access to core content such as headlines, schedules, bios, rosters and photos will not be interrupted.
Additionally, we will be unable to post new content to the Web site during this move. However, we have arranged for real estate on http://www.sc.edu/cws as a means for posting any news that may develop during this downtime. As many of you know, we have a parade for our baseball team Friday to recognize their recent national championship and we intend to give you a full recap as soon as we can afterward on this page. Remember to visit http://www.sc.edu/cws to see it, and we will post any other news there as well that may arise while the move is taking place.
Also, remember you can still keep up with the Gamecocks using these sites as well:
We thank you in advance for your understanding and patience and wish everyone a fun and safe holiday weekend.
